• Supervise technical matters on external permanent and temporary works design to ensure compliance with relevant
  engineering/design requirements/bid documents.
• Liaison with managers to ensure efficient communication, immediate response to design/construction related queries and
  timely transfer of drawings/documents.
• rovide solution of engineering and planning all aspects of the tendering and operational works.
• Liaison with permanent and temporary works design consultants as and when required and checking of any associated drawings and documents.
• Provide a professional and accessible point of contact for all local authority representatives, and coordinate site visits.

Prepare, establish and implement the Project Quality Management (PQM) system for the Base transmission Station BTS project for Maxis/DIGI Communication network (the largest telecommunication network in Malaysia).

The PQM system comprises of the method of building a quality work within short time frame of base station including the tower
communication, starting from the site investigation to the completion of each site. To-date Leighton had completed 345 base
stations within a period of 2 years.

The greatest achievement was the PQM system developed was
Approved and given a certificate in ISO 9002/2000. The system also proven to be very successful system with 90% of site
handed over with zero defects

Position : Construction Manager

Take charge of the civil department in BPC – BDO project for BASF/PETRONAS and extension project for BASF PETRONAS Chemicals in Gebeng, Kuantan .The project is a joint venture project between Kvaerner and Dialog. Kvaerner /Dialog provide full turnkey project both design and build.

My responsibility is to provide supervision team engineers and supervisors for execution of work for building, civil and structural steel work, to provide a guideline and method of construction best suited to the requirement of BASF/PETRONAS and meets the construction programme with accident free.

Refurbishment of CDU stack

Syntex scope of work include not limited to replace the brick lining in the CD3 unit stack and replaced them with Steel liner and transform maintaining the flue gas flow for Condenser splitter unit usage, The stacks is 120m in height. My responsibility is to co-ordinate the work to tie in to Chiyoda new unit, prepare engineering detail, establish method statement for the execution of the Condenser Splitter Unit refurbishment work and supervise and manage the entire work

Refurbishment of Thermal Gas Unit stack

Syntex was awarded to refurbished the Thermal gas unit from brick lining to Steel lining with a given shutdown period of 2 weeks. My responsibilities it to take full charge of the shut down work including breaking out the existing brickwork, inspect the fabrication work of steel liner by Wong Heng in Seremban and installation of the steel liner at site.

Position : General Manager (Malaysia Branch) cum Project Manager

Project Manager for Construction of 2nos of LRCC stacks

Responsible for the completion of the 2nos of 135m RC stacks in 11 months. The stack was the first in Asia with 5 flues in single
windshield. My responsibilities cover the project management, procurement, QA/QC and safety. The company received the best
safety award for the achievement of completing the job with accident free.

General Manager (Malaysia Branch) cum Project Manager

Assigned as General manager for Malaysia branch in the office in Kuala Lumpur. Responsible in marketing, prepare tender document and contract for the subcontractor, submit tender and estimates. Project awarded during my charge:

1. 5 nos. of Cement Silo in Bahau for NSCI contract value RM 14.0mil.
2. Refurbishment of Chimney in Pasir Gudang Power Station.
3. Refurbishment of chimney in Shell Port Dickson.
4. Total refurbishment of chimney flue 4, 5, and 6 in Perai Power station. RM 5.0 mil.
5. Design and Build of 80.0m RC chimney for LRCC project in Shell Port Dickson. Contract Value RM 2.7mil.

Responsible as the project Manager of all the project; fully in-charge in the project management, quality control and monitoring
construction programme and procurement. We had 200 workers and staff during our peak period.

Achievement

The clinker silos built in NSCI

Negeri Sembilan cement Industry was the biggest ever-constructed in Malaysia having diameter of 34.0 m. It was also the first in Malaysia history whereby the erection of the 225 ton steel roof was erected on the ground and lifted 60.0 m position using hydraulic jacking system.

The advantage of the system is reduce the risk on the man fall from height and shortens construction programme.

Petronas 2nd Refinery in Malacca – Project Value of RM $ 3 billion.

• This plant is Petronas 2nd Refinery after the 1st Refinery in Kerteh, Terengganu. This is totally a new plant where JGC was involved as the turnkey contractor in designing and constructing the new plant.
• Take charge of the supervision on critical building especially those having particular problem such schedule delay.
• Supervision and advice the quickest and high quality construction to the local contractor in achieving the programme and
  quality.

CCR/Aromatics Projects for Mobil Oil Singapore

A new CCR and Aromatic Plant was designed and constructed by Asia Badger Inc. This project involved revamped shutdown and tied-in work to existing facilities. My responsibility was to:

• Lead the Civil/Structural/Building Engineer for off site and revamped.
• Assisting offsite Superintendent in Revamp shut down.
• Carryout Engineering Survey for offsite and report to Badger in Cambridge for finalisation of design.
• Supervision the Civil, Structural and Building subcontractor in execution of work in existing facility.

Polypropylene  Plant for M/S Titan Himont Polymer (M) Sdn Bhd

The project is a client requested copycat design similar to that of Himont Polymer Plant in Thailand suiting to Malaysia standard requirement. My responsibility  was to:

Powerformer No. 2 Project for ESSO
Port Dickson Refinery

• Turnkey project by JGC Corporation. It was most complicated and tight schedule project where we were requested to complete within one year. Failing which a higher penalties will be imposed, on the other hand project bonuses will be given to the company to a sum of RM 20 mil, if we manage to complete a revamp / debottling work where require higher skill, understanding and proper scheduling.
• Responsible to control as head of the department for Civil Building steel structure.
• Leading the group of Engineer to supervise and co-ordinate the work performed:
  – Civil and Structural work by Wing Hup Heng Sdn Bhd
  – Building work by Sato Amoy (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (subsidiary company of Sato Kogyo of Japan)
• Providing information on tie-work to existing facilities and on site design work. Payment approval & BQ and estimation.

The Company manage to complete the job 1 week ahead of programme

Position : Civil Engineer

Company: JGC corporation (Nikki Koji) – Yokohama

LPG extraction project – in Lhoksuemawe Indonesia for Pertamina – Project Value of US$ 6 billion.

It’s totally a new plant where JGC Corporation providing a turnkey – designs and build. The plant was constructed within the existing operational LNG Plant and sharing the main gas pipeline of natural gases that came from Lhoksukon injection well.

The plant was constructed where a lot of sharing facilities, thus the work mainly involved within the existing facilities. The plant was subdivided into 3 areas:

1. The process and Existing Area
2. Storage and loading including new harbour
3. The gas injection plant

Responsible are to supervise, quality control and progress monitoring on the Civil engineering contractor- Sumicon (Sumitomo Construction) performing their work in revamp area. Provide engineering back up for the design team in Jakarta especially related to tie-in and co-ordination work to existing facility.

Position : Civil Engineer

NG Expansion Project Train VI in Lhoksuemawe Indonesia for PERTAMINA/MOBIL, Project Value US $ 800 mil.

The project is an expansion project of existing operational plant. It is copy of existing train v plant with the extensive modification. Since it was constructed within the existing plant all precaution and safety awareness was highly given. Close supervision and proper co-ordination was required through out the construction

Responsible in co-ordinating the Civil Engineering work within the existing facilities performed by P. T Jaya Ohbayashi Gumi (subsidiary company of Ohbayashi Gumi of Japan).
